Although it does not sound like something I would use, LittleBigPlanet is yet another interactive immersion game that utilizes the latest technology to create a unique experience. The New York Times/Reuters article title, "LittleBigPlanet Turns Gamers Into Creators" seems to say it all. Even though, as I have said before, I am not a big gamer and not personally interested in these types of games, I am still fascinated by their innovative nature. The ability to incorporate ones own designs within the forum of play allows for so much freedom and creativity. LittleBigPlanet's art director Kareen Ettouney said that "the best thing about user-generated content is that it decreases the space between an idea in your head and bringing it to life on the screen." It sounds like a gamers dream to be playing a videogame, wish you could take your character, avatar, etc., to a different location or scenario, and then literally create a new level to satiate this hunger. LittleBigPlanet will also involve an online aspect allowing for multiplayer scenarios. I know this capability makes these games
all the more exciting. One of my roommates here in Manhattan "spends time" with his little brother, at college in Miami, by linking their XBOX systems to team up while playing HALO. They have headsets so that they can discuss the combat situations in real time and have each other's back when trying to take on opponents playing around the world. All through the power of wireless internet. And some pretty detailed 3-D graphics, if I do say so myself.
